About Mediterranean cruises
The Mediterranean is the busiest cruise region outside the Caribbean and the only one where every line we track sails. Western loops leave Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Savona and Civitavecchia for Naples, Palma and the Riviera; eastern loops run from Venice-area ports, Athens (Piraeus) and Istanbul to the Greek islands and Croatia. Seven nights is the standard, with three- and four-night mini cruises common in spring and autumn. The season runs March to November with MSC and Costa year-round; July and August carry the highest fares and the most families, while late spring and October usually combine warm weather with noticeably lower prices.
